Among the stalls of the market in Asti are the last days of waiting before the ruling of the Piedmont Regional Administrative Court, scheduled for Wednesday 19 June, on the request to suspend the transfer from Piazza Alfieri and Libertà to Piazza del Palio. According to the representatives of the market operators, the court’s ruling should be a point in favor of the street vendors against the Municipality’s decision to merge all the activities into one large square.
For the municipal administration, however, the TAR could agree with it and this trust is also demonstrated by the fact that, in recent days, the trade office and the municipal police officers have traced the new stalls for the relocation of the benches in the new location . A decision, that of the Municipality, which has caused discussion among the operators, who are against the move, convinced that the Municipality has put the cart before the horse and that it should have instead waited for the opinion of the Regional Administrative Court.
In order to find out what the TAR’s decision will be, the street vendors will meet on Tuesday afternoon in via del Bosco, at 5.30 pm, to discuss some important points including the methods of participation in the tender for the Municipality’s urban commercial district and in the for the street walk promoted by the Piedmont Region, receive updates on the appeal to the TAR and evaluate new actions that may be taken after Wednesday.
