Golden moment for artistic gymnastics in Cesena, which can now legitimately dream of the Olympics. In recent days Elisa Agosti of ‘Renato Serra’ and Roberto Marzocchi of ‘Romagna Team’, the two Cesena clubs chaired by Corrado Maria Dones, ranked in the general competition at the absolute Italian championships scheduled in Cuneo on 7 July. They were joined in the barre specialty by Gabriele Tisselli. And Chiara Barzasi, Niccolò Vannucchi and Lorenzo Casali had already qualified for the same competition, which brings the total of athletes from Cesena called to compete with the best Italian champions to six: “We are the club that has the highest number of representatives at the championships absolute – commented Dones satisfied, aware of the importance of the appointment – In fact the Piedmontese date is more indicative than ever, because it precedes the start of the Olympic Games by a handful of weeks and therefore represents the last, decisive, opportunity for the gymnasts to show their qualities in view of the assignment of the last places in the team. The talent of our athletes is indisputable and to this aspect we need to add the fact that, since they are all young or very young, if the call does not arrive now, in four years. they would certainly be among the favorites to wear the blue.” The references apply to everyone, starting from the female sphere, in which both Barzasi and Agosti are showing first-rate skills, constantly refined. The same goes for men, starting for example with Niccolò Vannucchi, who grew up as a sportsman in Cesena and who is starting to reap the fruits of a truly commendable dedication to work. The widespread talent has already been amply demonstrated, both individually in international competitions and at club level: the Romagna Team has just placed second in Italy, missing the tricolor by a whisker, while Renato Serra did well by reaching the finals six.
