In the province of Pavia (final data) Fdi at 31.32%, Pd at 19.15% and Lega at 18.48%; Forza Italia is the fourth party at 9.98%, followed by M5S 6.3% and Alleanza Verdi Sinistra (5.43). At a national level, Giorgia Meloni’s party is growing, but Elly Schlein’s Democratic Party is also growing, but in the province of Pavia it remains stable.

The League, which loses third place in the Government coalition, overtaken by Fi, does not reach the double figures hoped for by the secretary Matteo Salvini at a national level but celebrates the exploits of Marine Le Pen in France and the 18% in the province of Pavia where however, in the last elections, it reached 47.25%. However, the North West constituency remains more Northern League, where the League reaches 11.90%, in Lombardy 13.1%.

Turnout

Turnout is also decreasing in the province of Pavia: the definitive figure for the European elections in the province of Pavia (603 sections out of 603) stops at 56.2%, 8 points less than in 2019 when it reached 64 ,3%. The figure is above the Italian average 49.69% (in 2019 it was 56.09%) and above that of the North Western Italy constituency to which it belongs (55.09%, previous 63.59/).

In Pavia 59.8% voted, in Vigevano 46.7%, in Voghera 47.9%. The European elections in Italy recorded a turnout of 49.68% of those entitled to vote.

For the municipal elections in the province of Pavia (348 out of 348 sections) the figure is a little higher, i.e. 62.7%, but still decreasing compared to the previous 68.3%.

The count for the European Championships

7.16 am – Counting for the European elections began at 11pm and is currently underway (59,749 sections counted out of 61,650). Here are the provisional data: the list at national level Brothers of Italy ranks first with 28.82% of the votes, followed by Democratic party with 24.03% e 5 Star Movement with 9.93%. They follow Forza Italia – We Moderates – EPP: 9.72% – Salvini Premier League: 9.14% – Greens and Left Alliance: 6.62%. At the moment the lists do not exceed the 4% threshold United States of Europe (3.74%) and Ation – We are Europeans (3.31%).

7.32 am – In the North West constituency (Piedmont, Val D’Aosta, Liguria, Lombardy) with 15,988 sections scrutinized out of 15,999 Fdi at 30.90%, Pd 23.04%, Lega 11.90%, Forza Italia 9.38%, Avs 7 .11%, M5S 6.73. Here too, Action, United States of Europe and Peace, Land and Dignity do not exceed the 4% threshold which would have allowed – if achieved at a national level – to elect MEPs.

7.45 am – According to Youtrend’s instant polls, it emerges that among the off-campus students who went to vote (a very small sample), the opposition parties win: 40% Avs and 25% Pd.

8.30 am – Angelo Ciocca confirms himself as the most voted Northern League candidate in the province of Pavia with 12,167 votes, followed by Elena Lucchini (7,893) and Roberto Vannacci (7,870) but at constituency level Vannacci is the most voted with 179,326 preferences, followed by Silvia Ardone (70,283 ) and Isabella Tovaglieri (38,471). Angelo Ciocca stops at 37,792 against 89,752 in the last round.
