Press review – “New Piazza Marvelli will be the icon of Rimini at an international level”. The Municipality’s hope is to make the area fully usable for the summer of 2027. Sadegholvaad: “An answer to the theme of parking but also a business card”
MICHELE DONATI – Piazza Marvelli has a “wow effect”: the mayor Jamil Sadegholvaad, the engineer Gilberto Sarti of Structura Engineering and the architect Gianni Ranaulo are convinced of this, who yesterday morning presented the project for what, in their ambitions, will become “the icon of Rimini in the world”, also dictating the timing of the intervention: in the final phase of the preparatory works for the start of the excavations, it is expected to conclude the works for the underground floors intended for parking “by January 2026”, while for the square in its new definitive guise “the hope is that it will be complete by the summer of 2027”. “Companies from the Rimini area are already working on the construction site – underlines the mayor – and this gives me hope about the timing”. A clarification which for the mayor also takes on a form of reply to those who were surprised that the works began in the summer: “We knew that two summers would inevitably be occupied by the interventions – he underlines – and therefore we preferred to leave to continue the process of transformation of the city started”.
