After having “visited” various shops and businesses in the center of Aprilia, the criminals went into action two nights ago at the pitch in Via della Meccanica where Aprilia Rugby trains and plays. It is not the first time that president Alessandro Martino’s sports club has suffered incursions of this type.
It had already happened several times in the past, with thieves damaging the structure and taking away the materials and sports equipment. Last night it happened again. The thieves damaged the entrance doors and once inside they removed two televisions and some technical material including jackets, uniforms and bags. Then, not happy, they moved some plasterboard panels, perhaps thinking they were hiding something of value, and continued to smash the interior.
«It is the third incursion in a few months – explains Alessandro Martino – we feel violated. It is not possible to deal with this situation every three months. In addition to the theft, the criminals vandalized the structure. I will ask the Municipality, owner of the field, to install an anti-theft system and upgrade the public lighting in the area. The area also lacks a video surveillance system, these are all things that would improve the security of the area. We can’t take it anymore, we are forced to continuously take inventory of the stolen material.”
