Italy amazed and charted the course. At the end of the second day of G7 work, once the final declaration of the leaders was adopted, in a video on social media Giorgia Meloni is, once again, “proud” of the eyes of the world focused on Italy.

Despite the friction, the summit converged on an “extremely significant” document, he stated, which contains “concrete, real” commitments, which concern decisive issues for our present, for our future and on which he reiterated his unity of intent, the its compactness”. Unity on support for Ukraine and “full convergence” on support for the US proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza.

The G7, he repeats, confirms that it is “not a closed fortress that must defend itself from something or someone, but an offer of values ​​that opens up to the world, that wants to build shared development and growth”.

The moment was historic, with the presence of Pope Francis, the first Pontiff at a G7, who shared his reflections for an “ethical and human-centered development of a revolutionary technology such as artificial intelligence”.

Furthermore, it is the first time in history that a summit of the big seven addresses the issue of migration: “We agreed that it is necessary to build coordination at an international level and develop a new strategy that is based on different guidelines, starting from the need to build a global alliance against human traffickers and thus systematize efforts to combat a scourge that fuels illegal migration flows and represents a new form of slavery”, explains the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister lists the names of all the leaders, thanking them: “Joe, Emmanuel, Rishi, Olaf, Justin, Fumio, Ursula and Charles” for the “great contribution they have given to the success of the initiative” and thanks the leaders of the nations and of the international organizations that participated in the outreach session, “one of the largest and most representative ever – he claims – which made this summit even more significant”.
