During the flag ceremony, the leaders witnessed the launch of the Folgore paratroopers, who arrived from the sky carrying the flags of the seven member countries and that of the European Union. The video, which quickly went viral on social media, appears to show Biden walking away from the group of world leaders for no apparent reason. However, closer inspection reveals a different story.

In X’s bio, they describe themselves as committed to “exposing the lies, hypocrisy and failed policies of Joe Biden’s far left and the Democratic Party.” It is clear, therefore, that the publication of the video hides the intent to criticize Biden, promoting a narrative that (at least in this case) turns out to be misleading.
The truth behind Biden’s greeting
In the full video, available in various uncut shots, Biden can be seen watching the sky waiting for the paratroopers to arrive. At one point, the President greets one of the arriving paratroopers, a gesture of respect and appreciation for military service. This crucial detail was omitted in the edited videos circulating on social media, giving a misperception of the president’s behavior and fueling discussion and criticism among users.
