In relation to the decision of transfer the celebration of the Mistral process from the bunker classroom of new Court of Vibo Valentia at the bunker classroom in Lamezia Terme, following the specially called meeting, the Criminal Chamber of Vibo Valentia, today, resolved the state of agitation among the Vibo criminal lawyers. During the meeting, in addition to deciding on the state of unrest, it was decided to call a public meeting of the entire categoryinvolving the Council of the Bar Association, inviting institutional representatives and criminal chambers from the entire region.
«It was decided to also involve politics – says the Vibo Criminal Chamber through a press release – that cannot remain silent on these issues which do not only involve professionals but an entire community which, even in this sector, is increasingly deprived of essential services. It was therefore reiterated that the problem is also political and politics must assume its responsibilities. It is unthinkable that such decisions will come adopted without involving the category more involved in the matter, especially after the Board, in its previous composition, had issued an order with which he had established the holding of the trial in the bunker courtroom in Vibo Valentia overcoming the resistance of the DDA who insisted on the transfer to Lamezia Terme.
It has been highlighted that currently Other DDA trials are being held in Viboabstractly with the same problems as public order which would have been the basis of the decision taken, while some hearings of the Scott Rebirth trialwith many more defendants, were regularly celebrated in Vibo without problems of any kind. As criminal lawyers, therefore, we can no longer remain silent. We can’t not report a real limitation on defense rights which derive from decisions taken essentially to the detriment of citizens”.
