European sports chanbara championship, good performances by Shorei Shobukan Legnano

The XIII Cchanbara European Sports Championship took place at Eboli, where athletes from 12 European countries challenged their limits in two days of intense competition. Airsoft fencing, also known as sports chanbara, saw the participation of national teams from all over Europe, including the Italian national team led by the maestro Diego Falco, recognized as the highest authority on sports chanbara in Italy.

The athletes of the Shorei Shobukan Legnano they showed a good performance, while the young Matilda Maiurri conquered the top step of the podium in the morote choken (two-handed sword) specialty, thus becoming European champion. Furthermore, she obtained a European super champion, silver in kihon (fundamental techniques) and bronze in both kodachi (short sword) and tate kodachi (sword and shield).

Gioffredi Francesca won the gold medal in the tate kodachi specialty and achieved two third places in the kodachi and choken morote. Andrea LaManna, despite narrowly missing out on gold to his French opponent, demonstrated a high level of skill and dedication.

This event strengthened the ties between the different European realities of sports chanbara and contributed to promoting this dynamic and fascinating sport. The results obtained by the Italian athletes have added prestige to the national representation and will inspire the new generations of practitioners of this dynamic and modern sport in Legnano and Lombardy
