GROSSETO – A great celebration for the city of Grosseto, which will see the city center animated by a series of initiatives on the occasion of the four shows of “GRande estate”, the second edition of the music and entertainment event, promoted by the Tourism Department of the Municipality of Grosseto, organized by M.Arte aps and supported by Conad, main sponsor of the initiative.

An event designed to animate the historic center of Grosseto not only with the shows scheduled in Piazza Dante in Grosseto, for four events, from June 21st to 27thbut also with a series of collateral events that will be implemented thanks to the commitment of the Municipality of Grosseto, the Grosseto Cultura Foundation and the associations Confartigianato, Cna, Ascom Confcommercio, Confesercenti and Natural Shopping Centre.

“GRande estate is back again this year, the summer event most awaited by our citizens – comments the mayor Antonfrancesco Vivarelli Colonnto -. An event full of shows and artists of the highest level, known throughout the national scene, which will bring hundreds of citizens and tourists to Piazza Dante. Last year’s success was enormous and we are certain that we will be able to replicate it this year too. We promised it and we did it: GRande Estate has become an annual event, destined to be repeated over time. My sincere thanks go to all the people who made this show possible, to the Board and to all the collaborators.”

The Tourism Councilor also expressed great satisfaction Riccardo Megale who declares: “Grosseto is becoming more and more attractive, ready to welcome visitors, thanks not only to the quality of the shows offered, but also to the beauty of our historical and cultural heritage. The event represents a unique opportunity to enhance our city and make it known to a wider audience. I am sure that, this year too, we will be able to exceed expectations and give everyone a memorable ‘Great Summer’”.

The Social Councillor Sara Minozzi expresses great satisfaction for the contribution offered to the creation of the evening dedicated to Paolo Ruffini: “It is with immense pleasure that we collaborated on the staging of ‘Up&Down’, a show that not only entertains, but deeply touches the hearts of those who watch it. We are proud to offer our audiences a show that celebrates human richness in all its forms.”

“The show will be the fulcrum of a series of collateral activities organized by the various departments, enriching the four evenings with a wide range of initiatives – concludes the councilor for the historic center Fabrizio Rossithe Councilor for Culture Luca Agresti and the councilor for Productive Activities Bruno Ceccherini -. The city museums will remain open overtime, ready to welcome visitors – explains councilor Agresti -. It will be an unmissable opportunity to rediscover the cultural heritage of our city. Even the shops in the center will remain open until late, thanks to the precious collaboration of the trade associations and the Ccn – adds councilor Ceccherini -. This will offer citizens and tourists the opportunity to go shopping in the evening, walking through the illuminated streets of the historic centre. Furthermore, we are launching ‘Ristorando’, a special initiative aimed at all the restaurants in the city, which will offer a fixed price menu. The restaurateurs participated enthusiastically, creating menus specifically designed to enhance local products. The historic center will therefore be animated at 360 degrees to satisfy the tastes of adults and children – concludes councilor Rossi -. The evenings will be full of music, entertainment, live shows and many other surprises. They will be moments of great celebration, designed to involve the whole community and to make the historic center live as a place of meeting and sharing. Do not miss”.

The “GRande estate” festival is supported by Conad, the main sponsor of the event: “Conad is part of the life of Grosseto – he states Paul of the Innocents – is an integral part of it and for this reason our involvement in many activities that go beyond supermarkets is natural. Contributing to and supporting important events such as the summer season is a way of affirming with the Municipality the need to improve the quality of life of the community also through music, theater and entertainment in general. We are here.”

The social promotion association M.Arte takes care of the calendar and organizes the events: “We are collecting the legacy of the success achieved last year by ‘GRande estate’ – declares Federico Babini, of the M.Arte association –, which offered the public a very beautiful and engaging experience, also taking advantage of the adjustments that the first edition indicated. We are bringing to the streets a quartet of artists who we believe can meet the most disparate desires and needs of a wide audience: in fact, they range from Ruggeri’s songwriting to Arisa’s pop, passing through Paolo Ruffini’s social commitment, up to versatility of Dario Ballantini, who we will see both in his best-known role, as a comedian and imitator, and as a musician, with a concert that veers towards rock and has nothing to envy of other important national bands”.

The program of events in Piazza Dante

Off we go Friday 21 June with the concert by Enrico Ruggeri, one of the most loved and appreciated Italian authors, who will bring to Grosseto his rich repertoire, made up of his greatest hits, which retrace milestones of Italian music from the Seventies to today. A singer-songwriter who ranges from pop to punk, passing through rock and who will make entire generations sing, with his energy.

Sunday 23 Juneinstead, it will be the turn of Paolo Ruffini with “Up&Down”, a comic and at the same time moving show, which talks about human relationships, offering the public a direct and poetic investigation into society. The irony and irreverence of Ruffini and the actors who accompany him on stage tells of the beauty that lies in diversity, to remind the audience that we are all differently normal and wonderfully different. “Up&Down”, in fact, was born from Ruffini’s meeting with a group of actors with down syndrome: from the meeting of two worlds, apparently distant, comes a show that is based on the overturning of stereotypes to reiterate a very important concept: that beyond everyone’s diversity, we are all equal and with the same right to express ourselves.

We return to Piazza Dante Wednesday 26 June with the concert of Arisa. The singer who made her debut in Sanremo, winning the “New proposals” category in 2009, brings to Grosseto her art which has evolved and matured over the years. After her television experiences as a judge on attention of a heterogeneous audience.

The “GRande estate” exhibition ends Thursday 27 June with the “Rock Live Show” of Dario Ballantini. The quick-change artist, Italian comedian and painter, takes to the stage of the Maremma capital with a unique show, full of music, quick-change techniques and gags, bringing the characters and sketches that have made him loved by the general public. He will be joined by an exceptional band that will accompany his performances, reviving the most iconic pieces of other great Italian artists.

All evenings are open and free of charge, until the maximum capacity allowed is reached. The “GRande estate” event, like last year, will see the collaboration of various partners who will contribute to animating the historic center of Grosseto over the four days of the festival, to give life to a great early summer party, designed for citizens and tourists .

Evening opening of the city museums
On the four evenings, the city museums will be open until 11pm: the Maam, archaeological and art museum of the Maremma, the Polo Clarisse and the Natural History Museum of the Maremma will welcome visitors even after sunset.

Shops open and special menus in restaurants in the center and beyond
Extraordinary opening of many shops too: the members of the Natural Shopping Center will also decorate their windows with the colors chosen for the initiative’s poster, while Confartigianato Imprese Grosseto supports Ristorando, an initiative of the restaurants in the historic center of Grosseto which, in the evenings of “GRande estate”, will offer a two-course menu and a dessert at the fixed price of €30. The participating restaurants are: Controbottega, Enoteca Gustangolo, L’Archetto pizzeria, L’Uva e il Malto, La Cantina di Piazza del Sale , Locanda de’ Medici, Loft urban wine shop, Lucignolo al centro, Maniscalchi del Gusto, Perlage Wine&Food, Sale Grosso, Trattoria Movida, Vineria da Romolo. Ascom Confcommercio and Confesercenti are proposing the “GRande estate at the table”, an initiative aimed not only at restaurateurs in the historic center but throughout the city, which provides for the advance of service times and/or fixed menus or other specific supply offers for the four evenings. Cna Grosseto also supports the “GRande estate” event, through some associated companies, which will offer customers special menus, guarantee evening opening and discounts for customers.
