ROVIGO – Donating is more than ever a team game, which involves health professionals, donor associations and sport. Two wonderful videos with i rossoblu champions of Rugby they told it today, on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, in the Aula magna of the social and healthcare Citadel, together with the Avis Provincial Presidency. The message is clear: you can never donate enough, blood, the medicine for life, is needed in abundance. The videos involved the professionals of the transfusion medicine service and, as exceptional testimonials, the city rugby champions. “Summer begins and we know that, especially in these months, donations are never enough, even though our province is among the most generous in Italy, explains the President Barbara Garbellini – Today is World Blood Donor Day, an important moment to remember how many lives can be concretely saved with a gesture of solidarity: our association is implementing important actions to broaden the pool of donors, focusing on young people” .
“Rubgy is the city’s sport and it is a contact sport, highly inclusive and relational: sportspeople network, form opinions, and our rossoblu are fantastic, we really believe in this video campaign with our FemiCz Rugby players to raise awareness of the community also on correct lifestyles” he highlighted Andrea Trombini
“2023 was a great year for donations in Polesine: the total number of blood donations was 14,352, Plasma donations were 2316. There were 7021 donors. In the same year, visits for suitability for donation were 845 , while 683 first donations. In general, Rovigo is the Department of Transfusion Medicine in the Region which has the highest donation rate (and above all the highest number of donations per 1000 inhabitants, well above the threshold set by the WHO (World Health Organization) and the National Blood – explained the Director of the transfusion medicine department Andrea Frigato -we have the highest regional donation index: but we cannot stop, donating is culture”.

It literally means donating a part of yourself and your vital energy to someone who is suffering, someone who has a real and urgent need, it means worrying and acting for the good of the community and for the protection of life.
