Casignolo Committee over the top against the decision of the municipal administration of Monza to transfer the municipal pharmacy 5 to the future Community House. To the letter that the mayor Paolo Pilotto distributed in the town of San Rocco to explain the projects in the pipeline for the benefit of the area, the committee responded with an open letter, with harsh and polemical tones. “Any service aimed at improving the lives of citizens is welcome – we read in one passage – but playing cards, having your psyche analyzed, getting together to discuss who knows what you think can make up for the service of a pharmacy”?

The Casignolo Committee defends pharmacy 5. It says it is in favor of the creation of the Community House (which would be located not too far from the neighborhood pharmacy) and expresses “our hope for a function appropriate to healthcare needs (of which we feel the deficiency) and of suitable and serious professional usability”. But he really doesn’t want to know about the relocation of pharmacy 5.
THE REPLY TO THE MAYOR
The letter from the Casignolo committee has as its underlying theme opposition to the idea of transferring the pharmacy. Comment point by point the new projects and services announced by mayor Pilotto: the Community House, but also the walkway cycle/pedestrian lift from Via Monte Ortigara to Via Aquileiaon which it is said: “It remains to be understood what type of construction you will implement, because escalators or public elevators on which maintenance we are authorized to raise some doubts (just look under what conditions it’s the corridor that leads to the ladder for the overpass!!)”.
Controversial response also to the project redevelopment of a building in via Borgazzi that could accommodate services for the elderly, families, children. And then: “Home delivery to elderly people with problems or disabled people is welcome. For all vulnerable people (elderly people over 65 and especially those over 70), do you really think that home delivery of the medicine or subsidized transport can replace a primary and necessary service in the neighbourhood? But are the citizens of the suburbs really second class, despite what is advertised during the election campaign”?
The Casignolo Committee’s harshest attack is on the promise to redevelop the current pharmacy with a restyling and more services waiting for the transfer: “Hallelujah! Happy that later 53 years old of activity after months of denigration (often forcibly bandied about and untrue) a restructuring must be undertaken”. And then: To us misguided citizens, however, this seems like pure manipulation, as well as a ‘hoax’. We already know that you are not in a position to dismantle before 2026, and we do not know that you have any intention of renewing the lease of the Pharmacy”.
In closing, from the Casignolo Committee a firm no to the relocation of the pharmacy and a sharp rebuke: “None of the actions listed in your list contain a date of implementation, a detail of the project, or information about financing. We will be suburbanites but we know how to do 2+2. We hope we can find a way to listen to us: start setting an example with sensible and timely proposals.”
