The first sixty years of Eliano celebrated » Diocese of Tivoli and Palestrina

Thursday 6 June yes the celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the Liceo Ginnasio concluded Claudio Eliano and for the 20 years of the Special Olympics school team.

The party took place in the square in front of the institute’s headquarters, on the Via Pedemontana campus. A stage hosted the various awards organized and the photographic exhibition already proposed for the presentation of the book was set up Claudio Eliano, Prenestine sophist, by Angelo Pinci. This is also an important event in the institute’s celebration program. Taking place at the Fantoniana Library on May 23rd, the conference also saw the active participation of some students in the dramatization and reading of some passages from Eliano’s works.

The highlight of the afternoon of June 6th was the award ceremony for the winners of the “Premio Eliano Luzzatti” literary competition, which involved local students and students from different regions of Italy, with the satisfaction palpable of the organizers, for the numerous entries received for the three sections of the competition. Recognitions also for the students who distinguished themselves during the year for their participation in initiatives and projects.

The award ceremony was made possible by the collaboration of Roberto Simeoni Cultural Club, which also supported the creation of the volume of the Yearbook of High School graduates, and of Lions Club Palestrina Ager Praenestinus.

The naming of the square after Eunice Kennedy Shriver, the exceptional founder of the Special Olympics movement, is exciting. to which the high school has been contributing for 20 years volunteers and special athletes led by Prof. Silvia Merni. Prof Alessandro Palazzotti, founder and deputy vice-president of Special Olympics Italy and the school director Prof. Manuela Cenciarini, with little Gemma Pompili, in the presence of Alessandra Palazzotti, national director, they unveiled an elegant commemorative plaque.
