“Practically the ASP of KR, together with the Carabinieri, went to the private property of this good citizen Giandomenico Oliverio and
after having carried out many structural and environmental checks on his private property where he lives… and after having verified that all the dogs found inside live peacefully and are in excellent health, complete with microchips, unfortunately they sent him a fine of 1,500 euros, because according to them, Giandomenico is not authorized to save and look after the strays he finds injured and abandoned among the dangers of the road.
And much less can he welcome them into his land, where he takes care of them and follows them with love, respect and even a microchip, making them live peacefully while waiting for them to be adopted by good people, without asking for money or help from anyone.

According to the ASP, Giandomenico would have done better if he had left them among the dangers of the road and turned the other way, as unfortunately many people do.
Although the boy explained to him that he has no association and has not created any kennel on his property, but is simply a citizen who, driven by empathy and his civic sense, only tries to save and help these poor abandoned strays who otherwise, they would end up badly on the street, given that no one takes care of them and the municipal kennels are increasingly overcrowded and not adequate to give them the care they need.

The ASP, however, did not want to listen to reason and sanctioned him with an “unjust” fine of 1,500 euros which he will soon pay, THANKS to the solidarity of many citizens who organized a collection to help this good boy who is known and appreciated for his civic sense and for all the sacrifices he makes, to save and give a better future to these poor innocent victims of human ignorance and the incompetence of institutions and bodies who, despite the massive annual investment of public money, they are not able to combat, manage and prevent the uncivilized problem of strays which unfortunately is always growing in our territory.

WHEN I HEARD THIS ABSURD NEWS, I CONTACTED THE MAYOR OF CROTONE TO INFORM HIM AND TELL HIM THAT:

IF THE ASP CARRIED OUT THE SAME CHECKS THAT IT DID ON THIS DEFINITE CITIZEN, EVEN IN THE KENNELS WHERE THEY ARE PACKED UP AND LOCKED IN CAGES, THOUSANDS OF POOR STRAYS WHO HAVE BOTH THEIR FREEDOM AND DIGNITY BEEN TAKEN AWAY, THEY WOULD CLOSE 99% OF THE KENNELS THAT HAVE BEEN TAKEN AWAY THEY ARE MAINTAINED WITH PUBLIC MONEY.

TOMORROW TOGETHER WITH GIANDOMENIC, I SCHEDULED A MEETING WITH THE MAYOR OF KR TO LET HIM LISTEN TO HIS STORY.
WITH THE HOPE THAT THE MAYOR Vincenzo Voce CAN SHORTEN THE TIME OF IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECT ON STRAY ANIMALS, PREVENTING THESE INJUSTICES FROM HAPPENING ANYMORE IN THE FUTURE.

AND ABOVE ALL, WITH THE HOPE THAT THE DUE CHECKS THAT THE ASP MUST CARRY OUT ARE CONSTANTLY DONE IN OVERCROWDED AND INADEQUATE KENNELS… BUT ALSO ON AGRICULTURAL FARMING COMPANIES WHERE DOGS ARE OFTEN USED AND EXPLOITED ONLY TO MAKE THEM WORK AS GUARD DOGS, WITHOUT MICROCHIPS, IN VERY BAD PSYCHOPHYSICAL CONDITIONS AND MAKING THEM CONTINUALLY PROLIFER, INCREASING THE NUMBER OF STRAYS”
