Emilio Longo, former Picerno coach ready to start a new adventure in Crotone, spoke to his colleagues from La Nuova del Sud, greeting the Lucanians: “After Taranto, the decision to leave Picerno. Lack of stimuli, energy or what? After the match against Taranto I felt I had exhausted all my mental and physical energy. I felt I had given my all and I was afraid that the following year I wouldn’t be able to give the same and I preferred to leave continue because I had spent everything I had to spend.”

When I made the decision to leave Picerno it was because I no longer had the energy to continue, but I hadn’t spoken to anyone yet. At that moment there was no other team. I want to clarify this because Picerno must be an opportunity and not a fallback. The moment I made that decision I did so knowing full well that I would also run the risk of staying out of action for a year.”
He will always carry the experience in his heart: “They were two wonderful years from the point of view of the results that we made possible thanks to the contribution of everyone, the team, management, technical staff and players, but not only that. The Picerno community has always been present and has always supported us. Bonds and relationships have been created that go beyond football, Picerno has also won me over from a human point of view, it is a community that I carry and will carry forever in my heart and I take this opportunity to greet all those who welcomed me in their land and they loved me.”
