Strike announced by the SGB union for workers in the Municipality of Bologna. Arms crossed next June 17th, when the protest demonstration will meet under the school department in via Ca’ Selvatica at 10.00. The demonstrators will subsequently move in a procession to arrive at 12.30 pm under Palazzo d’Accursio, where the protest will continue during the session of the City Council.

“There are multiple reasons for the strike against the mayor and the council of the Municipality of Bologna – writes the union in a note -. From the reduction in productivity wages, to career progressions that are still at a standstill, company welfare blocked, totally insufficient hiring, which have resulted, for example, in an excessive workload for all operators in services 0-6, social services, Urp, with negative repercussions also on users. All points that concern the supplementary contract on which the Municipality of Bologna is very late. Added to these are: health surveillance, disregarded by the administration, with notable delays compared to medical visits to employees (provided for by law) and the almost non-existent trade union democracy with the cancellation of workers’ rights” the text ends. Local police personnel are excluded from the strike and will instead strike on June 30th.
