He was an institution in the record and book sales sector, owner of a historic shop in Gwidenin Piazza Garibaldi, which the theGuardian had been included among the ten most authoritative in the world for the trade of vinyls, a sort of Fort Alamo of music. He passed away on Friday morning at the age of 77 Paolo Carùthat the Courier he had interviewed in 2016 for the occasion of 50 years of activity. Great collector (“50 thousand records that occupy three rooms”) and founder of the magazine monthly BuscaderoCarù was found lifeless in his home, also in Gallarate, where he had recently lived alone.

«When vinyl stopped selling I didn’t bat an eyelid – he had confessed with pride -, I left the records on the shelves because I believe that the enthusiast, after having downloaded liquid music, needs to a physical object to touch. And there’s nothing better than a beautiful record with its own cover. Now vinyl is back in fashion, especially among young people.”
