Municipality of Cerignola, the ‘Vivi la Città 2024’ project approved for the strengthening of local police services

The municipal council today approved the launch of the “Vivi la Città 2024” project, an initiative aimed at strengthening the security and control services of the municipal territory during the summer period, in the evening and night hours.

The project envisages, in fact, an increase in the presence of Local Police officers in the area, beyond the ordinary service hours for the entire duration of the summer season.

The objective is to guarantee greater safety during the numerous civil, sporting and religious events that will enliven the city in the coming months, with particular attention to the events that will take place in the streets and squares.

The strengthening of services will above all translate into greater control of the territory with actions aimed at preventing and repressing dangerous situations for road traffic and urban safety, from evening and night-time surveillance to guarantee the safe conduct of public events to the control of commercial establishments with activities to verify compliance with current regulations, with particular attention to the city street, often prey to electric bicycles, and to the parks, on which the work of the local police has been focusing in recent months.

“This year too, our community will be able to count on the presence of local police officers, whom I will always continue to thank for their commitment, which overcomes daily obstacles and difficulties. The project is simple: more controls, more attention to the most frequented areas, more safety for citizens.” Comments by Security Councilor Teresa Cicolella.
