Pm: Were you part of any groups? Marco Raduano: Yes. Pm: Which mafia group and with some role? Raduano: So, I was head of the Vieste articulation, and I was close to the Romito-Lombardi-Ricucci clan of Manfredonia, in turn allied with the Moretti of Foggia. The Perna/Iannoli group” (rival of the Raduano clan on Vieste) “was allied with the Libergolis-Miucci of Monte, in turn allied with the Sinesi-Francavilla of Foggia”. What does the alliance consist of? Raduano: “We exchange killers, weapons, cars, we help each other for fugitives.” The former life prison boss who repented in March confirmed the map of “who is with whom” in the land of the fourth largest mafia in Italy, a map drawn up for some time by investigators and the DDA and not only on the basis of repentants.

The alliance map – By dividing the Capitanata mafia into 4 areas – Foggia, San Severo, Gargano, Cerignola – this picture emerges. The Moretti/Pellegrino/Lanza, the strongest of the three clans of the “Foggia Society”, especially through the work of weaving and mediation carried out by the old boss Rocco Moretti in the few months of freedom following his release from prison in April 2016 due to the expiration of the terms ( the following June special surveillance was applied to him, since October 2017 he has been detained again), he strengthened the historic alliance relations with the La Piccirella clan on San Severo; the Gaeta of Orta Nova; the Gallone-Carbone of Trinitapoli; the Romito of Manfredonia, which in the new Dia maps is called the Lombardi/Ricucci/La Torre clan, a group with business relationships and exchange of favors with the Raduano clan of Vieste. The Morettis’ rivals, namely the Sinesi/Francavilla su San Severo, are linked to the Nardino group; they are then historically close to the Libergolis (now called the Libergolis-Miucci clan), the dominant group back in the Gargano after the period of crisis experienced following the arrests and convictions in the maxi-trial of the Gargano mafia in the early years of the new millennium; Libergolis-Miucci who in Vieste are in relations with the Perna/Iannoli group. The third Foggia battery, the Trisciuoglio/Tolonese, which has always been close to the Morettis, “has developed synergies with the Romitos in Manfredonia and with elements of the Orta Nova crime group”, writes Dia in one of the six-monthly reports on the state of Italy’s fourth mafia .

Neutral Cerignola – In this panorama of “my friend-our enemy”, the Cerignola mafia does not appear, the richest, least investigated in the last twenty years, capable of diversifying its interests: from drug trafficking to arms trafficking for which places itself as a broker at a national level; from attacks on vaults and armored vehicles throughout Italy, to maxi-thefts in warehouses and companies scattered throughout the national territory, with stolen goods of any type being placed with fences in the lower Tavoliere area a few hours after the theft. The Cerignola organized crime avoids wars with other mafias, does not want to enter into rivalries on the Foggia-San Severo-Gargano axis, and maintains business relationships – especially in the drug trafficking sector – with any clan that presents itself with the money, espousing the maxim: pay money see camel.

The role of the repentant – The District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Bari is reaping investigative-judicial successes as reported by captures of fugitives, raids, arrests, collaborations with Justice, convictions, confessions of killers cornered by the mass of evidence collected. The DDA, with half a dozen prosecutors in charge of following investigations into the Foggia mafias, has been collecting the revelations of three top-level turncoats in the Capitanata criminal scene since the beginning of the year: the Foggia brothers Ciro and Giuseppe Francavilla, top elements of the homonymous clans that over the last twenty years have contributed to dictating the law (especially Giuseppe) on the subject of murders, extortion and drug trafficking; and the former Vieste boss Marco Raduano who by killing his former boss Angelo Notarangelo alias “Cintaridd” in January 2015 took his place, for years he was a mafia, drug trafficker, killed: he confessed to over 10 murders, of which 5/6 physically performed. Those of the repentants are transversal stories, because they reveal criminal dynamics in which the interests of the Foggia clans are intertwined with those of the Sanseveresi and Gargano groups. In the words of a prosecutor referring to the revelations of the Francavilla brothers in the “Game over” trial of 85 drug trafficking defendants, “the best is yet to come”.
