The startup specializing in digital healthcare and leader in physiotherapy and rehabilitation arrives in Italy, using artificial intelligence to read exercises in real time. Born in Spain in 2016 from the intuition of its two co-founders Silvia Raga (CEO) and Ricardo Jauregui (CTO), this reality opens up to Italy and has already been chosen by prestigious centers such as Humanitas, Istituto Maugeri, the clinics of TopPhysio in Rome and the clinics of the Kos group.

Its flagship product, ReHub, is a platform that enables the personalization and design of therapeutic exercises tailored 100% to patients’ needs, using advanced Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence technology to monitor progress remotely.

Movement therapy in Italy

In Italy, around 8.5 million people have motor difficulties, of which 3.7 million are serious. Almost 6 million people, i.e. almost 70% of those who experience movement problems, turn to a physiotherapist or kinesitherapist for movement therapy, the use of massages or other physical means.

How ReHub works

ReHub is a digital rehabilitation platform designed to offer an effective and personalized home service. Through a cloud platform, healthcare professionals can design and prescribe over 3,000 AI-driven exercises, customizing them to each patient’s specific needs. The technology relies on artificial intelligence algorithms to monitor patient progress, allowing practitioners to fine-tune each program to achieve better therapeutic outcomes. ReHub increases patient adherence by providing real-time feedback, thanks to advanced motion tracking technology. Using computer vision, ReHub allows you to measure movement amplitude, speed, repetitions, compensations and strength, all using the patient’s phone camera. The professional will then be able to contact the patient to evaluate the progress and completion of the treatment via chat and video consultation.

The benefits

ReHub technology, with more than 60 real-time detection points thanks to algorithms and computer vision, is four times more precise than the human eye and provides real-time feedback for movement correction. Of over 15 thousand patients, 90% declared that they would use the platform again. Furthermore, according to clinically validated data, rehabilitation with ReHub has a clinical improvement of 30% compared to traditional rehabilitation. Not only. The implementation of ReHub in the main hospitals and rehabilitation centers in Spain has demonstrated an increase in the production capacity of professionals, reducing patient waiting lists by over 30% compared to the time needed to obtain a standard physiotherapy session. With ReHub, the patient gains autonomy, in fact, there are 60% fewer in-person physiotherapy sessions. This also allows the patient to save on costs, including transport, of up to 50%.

Pathologies

More than 25,000 patients have been treated so far with ReHub and usage statistics indicate that the following are among the top ten pathologies: lumbar pain, neck pain and chondral lesion of the knee on the podium, followed by lesion of the anterior cruciate ligament, tears or ruptures of the rotator cuff, knee arthroplasty, ankle sprain and clavicle fracture, pathologies followed by adhesive capsulitis of the shoulder and shoulder impingement syndrome.
