This was declared by Vincenzo Telesca, candidate for mayor of the Municipality of Potenza, in response to the president of the Basilicata Region Vito Bardi, regarding the issue of healthcare in Lucania. “I would like to immediately reassure the governor: we are here to build, not to destroy.
We are the ones who build bridges, not walls. With me as mayor of Potenza, you will not have an enemy, but an interlocutor who will work with a single objective: the common good. Mine is a civic coalition; I don’t want to administer this city as a representative of a political party, but for the people who clearly rejected the League in the first round.
In this regard, in the spirit of constructive collaboration, I offer my willingness to work to resolve the critical issues of healthcare, a sector that is particularly suffering in Potenza due to the Fanelli management and the difficulties experienced by the San Carlo hospital. It’s true, healthcare shouldn’t be exploited, but neither can a situation as serious as the current one be ignored.
We know well which projects had to be abandoned, to the detriment of citizens, to cover the 50 million euro hole. Unfortunately, the current situation suggests an even worse deficit for 2024, due to healthcare emigration and mismanagement.”
