Olbia. As part of joining the initiative “Kind City”organized with the contribution of the International Kindness Movement network, the Municipality of Olbia and the concessionary company ASCO srl, which manages the city cemetery system, hosted a special event on 12 June at the Su Lizzu cemetery.
The initiative aimed to symbolically bring the values of kindness, forgiveness and gratitude to a place dear to the Olbia community. The event took place on the hill of the Su Lizzu cemetery, in front of the small church dedicated to San Francesco.
At the end of the evening, the signing of the “Gentle Cemetery” manifesto took place, in the presence of Mayor Settimo Nizzi, Paolo Zanghieri and Michele Marinello of the Altair Group, Caterina Sotgia, director of the city cemetery system, and Felicia Cigorescu, coordinator international of International Kindness Movement.
This symbolic gesture sealed the community’s commitment to promoting the values of kindness and gratitude, even in their places of eternal rest. Participation was open to all those who wished to celebrate kindness, forgiveness and gratitude, in a context of peace and communion. This meeting demonstrated how the community of Olbia can unite to enhance and respect places of memory, paying homage to the deceased with gestures of kindness and love.
