Arezzo, 14 June 2024 – A gold, a silver and a bronze for All Stars Arezzo Onlus at the Play The Games. The most important interregional event of the circuit Special Olympics was staged in Salsomaggiore Terme and recorded the presence of a delegation of athletes from Arezzo who, accompanied by the technicians Adriano Mazzocchi and Ramona Popa, lived an experience of true inclusion, meeting, autonomy and valorisation of individual abilities.
The Play The Games also involved some users of the “Mother of Divine Providence” Institute of the Passionist Fathers of Agazzi where the All Stars Arezzo Onlus experience began in 2002 who, in comparison with opponents from all over Italy, enjoyed of a further opportunity to affirm the right to play and sport for all.
The best results were achieved in bowls where there were one hundred and ninety-two athletes divided into ninety-six pairs: in the highest level category, Paolo Miralli and Mario Masobelli won every match played and deserved the top step of the podium, while the silver was achieved by Silvano Cimosi and Franca Innocenti at the end of an exciting and challenging journey.
The third medal was celebrated in table tennis by Samuele Capacci who, playing in the highest category, confirmed his growth and deserved a good third place. These results arrived a few days after the silver won at the Play The Games in Valdinievole in unified volleyball where athletes with disabilities shared the court with athletes without disabilities, thus reiterating the excellent level of preparation of the boys of All Stars Arezzo Onlus in various disciplines.
