Monte San Savino, computerized Ecoisles installation

Arezzo, 14 June 2024 – As promised, a new path in domestic waste collection begins. Three computerized Ecoislands have been installed with the aim of providing further opportunities for waste disposal in addition to the door-to-door service.

In fact, outside the weekly collection calendar, users will be able to take advantage of this waste disposal service to meet particular needs. The computerized Ecoislands are small ecological islands equipped with automatically opening doors where, upon identification using a Health Card or specific App, the following types of waste can be disposed of: o Multimaterial o Paper and Cardboard o Undifferentiated Citizens will be able to go exclusively to the largest Ecoisland close to the living area, in order to prevent the migration of waste. The door, therefore, will open only after the user has been recognised/authenticated.

The project, which will start from 1 August 2024, is currently experimental and will serve around 4,500 users in the municipal area, but the Municipal Administration intends to extend the service to all the inhabitants of the area. The three Ecoislands were located in the following points: Alberoro, Via Amintore Fanfani; Montagnano, Via Gina Valeri; Monte San Savino, Fossatello Area.

Detailed information on the functioning and ways of using the Ecoisole will be adequately communicated over the weeks leading up to its activation on 1 August 2024.
