Splits, fights, drug dealing in the triangle between via Nistri and via Pomeria. The latest episode dates back to Thursday afternoon when, in the midst of work, a group of young foreigners first started insulting each other and then beating each other up. Those armed with sticks fought each other in front of the incredulous eyes of passers-by and customers of businesses in the area. The limit is full, so much so that the owner of Caffè Ermes is fed up: “We are here to work, but it’s not possible. The drug dealers are present every day, doses are now given out without any restraint, but it can’t be like this”, yes vents Alessandro Gaito, owner of the bar overlooking via Nistri.
“It is not possible to have a business, people are afraid, the elderly are afraid to go and withdraw money from the ATM that we have next to our bar, we are a garrison. But our job is to serve drinks, breakfasts and snacks, not to provide security. We understand that the police are few, that the situation is complicated, but we who are on the front line can’t take it anymore”. On Thursday around 6:30 pm the fight started in via Pomeria in front of the Salvadori shop from which the police were alerted. Later the fight moved to via Nistri right in front of the Ermes bar: “They also had wooden sticks, shouting, beatings, a truly unpleasant situation”, adds Gaito. Also on the night between Wednesday and Thursday of last week vandals acted by overturning tables, breaking glasses and plates, smearing the walls with feces. It was a real raid that the thieves-vandals carried out the other night in the restaurant ‘Interludio’ in via Pomeria, owned by Stefano Bonfanti, president of Confesercenti. A night of break-ins, between Wednesday and Thursday, that plunges you back into the nightmare. After the ‘Ragiona’, not far away, it was also the turn of the restaurant ‘Interludio’ to be the victim of a break-in. The thieves – or the thief, it is not clear – entered from the back, breaking down the back door of the restaurant with a manhole cover, uprooted from the street. Once inside, the thugs acted undisturbed. Before, in fact, it was the turn of the restaurant ‘Ragiona’ in via del Melograno.
