Fabio Fognini, the Croatian Borna Coric and the Argentine Federico Coria will be the ‘superstars’ of the third ‘Emilia-Romagna Tennis Cup’, the ATP Challenger 125 tournament which starts on Sunday, on the courts of the Sporting Club Sassuolo, with the qualifying draw . The finish line is June 22nd with the final of the doubles and singles draws for an event that (re)brings great tennis to the first hills of Sassuolo. Organized by Master Group Sport in collaboration with the Emilia-Romagna Region, the Emilia-Romagna Tennis Cup was presented yesterday at the clubhouse of the Sassuolo club in the presence of Giammaria Manghi, head of the political secretariat of the presidency of the Emilia-Romagna Region , by the CEO of Master Group Sport Antonio Santa Maria, by Antonio Nicolini, president of Sporting Club Sassuolo and by Alessandro Motti, director of the tournament. “There are over 130 events that as the Emilia-Romagna Region we promote at a national and international level: tennis has great space and appears for the first time with a tournament of this level at the Sporting Club of Sassuolo, we are happy with this: we are happy because Sassuolo is a historical reality, the ideal context for such an event”. The event, said Manghi, brings together a cutting-edge club, a player like Master Group Sport and the Region. Whose synergies, said Santa Maria, “have guaranteed a path to valorise this splendid sport: in Sporting we have found a unique location”. The final stages of the tournament will be broadcast live on Sky Sport, while coverage of the entire tournament is guaranteed by Supertennis. The leaders of the via Vandelli club are enthusiastic, as “for some time – explains president Antonio Nicolini – they have been chasing this opportunity: we are proud of the choice made by the ATP, because for Sporting it means an important recognition and a promotion”. Five tennis players in the top 100 will take to the court, some former top 50 players and many young people, including the Sporting standard bearer, the 19-year-old Federico Bondioli: number one in the seeding will be the Argentine Federico Coria followed by Sumit Nagal, Alexandre Muller, Borna Coric and Daniel Altmaier and Luca Van Assche. Then Fognini, but also Francesco Passaro, Giulio Zeppieri, Andrea Pellegrino, Matteo Gigante, Marco Cecchinato, Gianluca Mager, Francesco Maestrelli, Alessandro Giannessi.
