VICTORY – There is a second victim from the Victoria’s tragedy. Neither Samehthe 34-year-old sister of the boy who set fire to the family home, survived the burns which had reached it in 70% of the body. The woman died yesterday atCannizzaro hospital in Cataniaa few hours after mother Miriam55 years old, the first to pass away shortly after the events.
Also in serious condition Father Kamel Zaouali, 57 years old, hospitalized at the Civic hospital in Palermo. His 19-year-old daughter is also in the Catania hospital Omaima.
Yesterday the investigators the young man was arrested, a 29-year-old apparently with mental problems, who apparently started the fire in the house in the middle of the night. He was reached while wandering in a countryside area.
In a short time the flames devoured the house of the Zaouali family located in a neighborhood of Vittoria. The one who escaped the tragedy was another daughter who studies in Turin.
Investigators are still working to reconstruct the story: from an initial summary reconstruction it seems that the young man had argued with his family and shortly afterwards piled up some tires in front of the house and set them on fire with a rag soaked in flammable liquid.
Yesterday the Mayor of Vittoria Francesco Aiello expressed condolences for the familywell integrated for years in the Ragusa area, and proclaimed the citizen mourning the day of funerals.
