Ilaria Bugetti first mayor of Pratothe proclamation in the hall of the Council Palace with the delivery of the tricolor sash by Matteo Biffoni, outgoing mayor after two terms.
Ilaria Bugetti, Pd, centre-left, elected in the first round with 52.22%. For the mayoral candidate, centre-right, 41.36%.
With the proclamation of Ilaria Bugetti as mayor of the second city in Tuscany by number of inhabitants, also the proclamation of all the elected to the City Council. With Claudio Belgiorno, FdI, preference record holder with 1879 votes. Followed by Benedetta Squittieri, Pd, outgoing councillor, with 1173 votes and Maria Logli, Pd, 1132.
The emotion of the outgoing mayor Matteo Biffoni was great when he handed over the tricolor sash of mayor to Ilaria Bugetti “Now good work. And long live Prato always.”
Bugetti: “It’s a very emotional moment. In fact, together with the tricolor band, I take on the burden and honor of administering this city. There is beauty but there is also a sense of responsibility. While waiting for the first City Council, they are already at work. I am meeting with the offices to understand how to best organize ourselves for the next few days and for the future. Then there is the handover with Matteo Biffoni whom I thank for the work he has done. Today, ideally, his ten years at the helm come into my hands of the city. There is a need to take care of these technical steps in detail to be one hundred percent operational. There is great enthusiasm and desire to serve the city as best as possible.”

From the moment of the proclamation, the first meeting of the City Council must be convened within 10 days and the new body must meet within the following 10 days.
The result of the administrative elections of 8 and 9 June 2024 was confirmed by the Central Electoral Office of Prato for the validation of the votes, presided over by judge Francesco Delù of the Court of Prato (8 of which 6 presidents of polling stations, President Delù and one official of the Court), who at the end of the verification procedure, carried out between Tuesday 11th afternoon and Wednesday 12th June in the Council Hall of the Municipality of Prato, officially proclaimed those elected. Here is the ranking from the Commission minutes: out of 82,237 valid votes cast, Ilaria Bugetti obtained the absolute majority with 42,947 votes, followed by Gianni Cenni with 34,017, Mario Daneri with 1931, Jonathan Targetti with 1907, Fulvio Castellani with 726 and Paola Battaglieri with 709.
