Milan, 13 June. (askanews) – “Dop and Igp. Quality champions!”. It is the title of the television commercial, by Masaf-Figc, which will be broadcast from 15 June on the Rai networks, with the Azzurri of Luciano Spalletti’s national team as the protagonists. Made in Coverciano during the pre-European training camp, the commercial aims to highlight the indissoluble bond that binds the champions of the national team to the quality products of their territory of origin and to enhance the concepts of protection, production techniques, controls and traceability that characterize. The film was presented today, at Eataly Milano Smeraldo, in the presence of the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, Francesco Lollobrigida, and the President of the Senate, Ignazio La Russa.

The PDO and PGI productions, it was highlighted during the event, represent a sector which, according to the Ismea-Qualivita report, is worth over 20 billion euros in production value, ensuring a contribution of 20% to the overall turnover of the Italian agri-food sector . Results at the basis of which is the great solidity of the national Dop economy: an organized system, which includes 296 protection consortia authorized by the Ministry of Agriculture and over 195,000 companies in the food and wine supply chains, with a number of employment relationships estimated at the first time at 580 thousand units in the agricultural phase and 310 thousand in the transformation phase.

The idea of ​​the commercial aims to enhance the indissoluble bond that every Italian has towards the quality products of their territory, a bond which is identified precisely in the Dop and Igp branded products, and which underlies the concepts of territory, protection, production techniques production, controls and traceability that characterize them. In addition to Spalletti, the commercial features the footballers Gianluigi Donnarumma, Matteo Darmian, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Riccardo Orsolini and Mattia Zaccagni.

The plot starts from the desire not to give up the quality products of one’s land in view of the trips. It comes to the planning, by the blue group, of an “expedition” to the pantry. They want to secure as many PDO and PGI branded products as possible to take on the road. The plan will be discovered by Mr. Spalletti who will prove to be an unexpected accomplice of the players.
