Serie B rediscovered 76 years after its last appearance, a historic result, an absolute masterpiece that has its roots in the wise planning of a club that left nothing to chance. To the microphones of TuttoB.com he intervened Iacopo Pasciuti, sports director from the Carrarese.

Director, a promotion that starts a long time ago.

“Yes, because we had already been doing well for several seasons. Last year we were the best fourth, only to be eliminated in the second round of the playoffs, while this year we were the best third and we won the playoffs.”

With the advent of Mr. Calabro, it seems to understand, there was that mental switch that allowed the team to make the leap in quality.

“We were not happy with the first part of the season, despite the record of points in a group in the history of Carrarese; we could have done more and better in terms of gameplay and performance. We decided to change coach and things have objectively improved. The choice rewarded us because with Calabro we achieved an incredible record of points, doubled the goals scored and beat the top teams; then in the playoffs the magic was created that led us to win promotion.”

What was the watershed race of the season?

“That 5-1 win against Torres. There we became aware that we had nothing to envy of the top two in the class. We have grown a lot, thanks to a new mentality and a different way of interpreting matches.”

Toughest opponent in the playoffs?

“Definitely Juve Next Gen. They were two very difficult matches because they are really good, full of talent, technically very gifted and are going to two thousand. Only a strong team like Carrarese could beat them.”

Net of the heavy defections suffered by Vicenza in the double final, Carrarese seemed more physically brilliant unlike a rather exhausted Lane.

“Yes, we played two very remarkable matches in terms of personality, conviction and amount of play. Well done Mr. Calabro in rotating 3-4 players, also taking advantage of his opponents’ disqualifications. We reached the final in the best physical conditions, thanks to the technical staff and above all the trainers.”

What does Serie B represent for the city of Carrara 76 years after its last appearance?

“It’s a dream, a historic achievement that will go down in the annals. We still don’t realize it… We are happy, proud and proud to have given immense joy to our people. The day before yesterday the players paraded through the streets of the city on board an open-top bus and it was nice to see so many fans, including children and elderly people, moved by this promotion”.

Pisa’s Arena Garibaldi will be the home pro tempore of Carrarese, waiting for the works to adapt the Stadio dei Marmi to the new category to be completed.

“Yes, we have indicated the Pisa stadium as the field to play the home matches. Having said this, the municipal administration of Carrara has committed to completing the works to adapt the city system in 90 days. From the information in our possession, no structural interventions would be necessary but only easily achievable improvements. The objective is to regain possession of our stadium as soon as possible, the ideal would be to play only the first 2-3 home matches at the Arena Garibaldi. In the meantime I would like to thank the Pisa Sporting Club and the municipal administration of Pisa for their hospitality.”

Mister Calabro doesn’t move. Certainly, however, the staff will have to be shored up to withstand the impact of a Serie B that promises to be as tough as marble.

“With the promotion, the automatic renewal for Mr. Calabro was triggered, but we will soon meet to sign a two-year contract: we already agree on everything. As for the squad, we will make the necessary assessments, taking into account the difficulty of the new championship, filled with strong and renowned teams, but also the regulation on the lists. The idea is to maintain the promotion group, obviously integrating it with elements functional to the category”.
