zero kilometer menu for a journey through flavours

Varese – Products typical of the territory they become the protagonists of the menus of restaurants and bars in Varese. For a month in around thirty businesses in the garden city you will be able to taste dishes made with zero km ingredients, from Luinese formaggella to Cantello asparagus, just to name the most famous ones. From June 17th to July 14th in fact, the first edition of the gastronomic event will take place “Tasteful itineraries“.

Dishes from the tradition or more modern reinterpretations will be at the center of the proposals. “A journey that involves many restaurants, bars, pastry shops, delicatessens and city venues – explains the deputy mayor Ivana Perusin – to raise awareness of the products and gastronomic traditions of the area, enhancing the many activities that have joined the initiative with enthusiasm and creativity, an expression of the entrepreneurial vitality and dynamism of Varese”.

The demonstration is promoted by the Urban Commerce District of Varese together with the Municipality of Varese, Confcommercio Ascom Varese, Slow Food Varese and Confesercenti Lombardia, Varese headquarters. “An event – continues Perusin – made possible thanks to an essential network work that actively involves local associations and realities, and which is aimed at both Varese residents and tourists, further enriching the offer of summer events, for a city increasingly attractive.”

The activities involved range from the center to the Sacro Monte and the neighborhoods. Alongside the culinary offerings there will also be events, with music and entertainment. Also presenting the event were Antonio Besacchi and Roberto Tanzi of Confcommercio Ascom Varese, Rosita De Fino of Confesercenti territoriale and Fabio Zanetti of Slow Food Varese, who underlined the presence of many local zero kilometer products. The businesses involved are Al Blanco Cafè Bistrot, Al Mattarello, Barrio Rossini, Basilico, Denis Buosi, Caravà café, Cyclery, Colombo Marzoli, Da Nonna Bissy, Foresteria Dansi, Il Ceppo, L’Uvarare, La Paranza, La Piedigrotta, La Terrazza, La Vecchia Masnago, La Vecchia Varese, Le Arcate, Limbosco, Osteria Irma, Pirola, Regondell, Ristorante Colonne, Ristorante Milano, Panorama Restaurant, Albergo Sacro Monte and Shaker.
