Rome, 13 June. (askanews) – The opposition will meet next Tuesday 18 June in Piazza Santi Apostoli with the tricolor to “raise the level of the battle” against the reforms of differentiated autonomy and the premiership. The president of the M5s Giuseppe Conte announced it in a video on social media. “Yesterday one of the ugliest pages in the history of Parliament was written. You have all seen the images: the project of differentiated autonomy, the secession of the rich, the ‘split-Italy’ wanted by Salvini Meloni and Tajani was under discussion in Montecitorio, against which we are fighting with all our energy and strength. Our deputy Donno simply wanted to hand over, think of it as a revolutionary gesture, our Tricolor to Minister Calderoli of the League who is the architect of this project. An absolutely reaction was born unacceptable: many, many deputies from the majority forces attacked him, with threats of kicks, pushes and punches. They even hit him in the abdomen with a punch, taking his breath away”, recalled Conte. “Something absolutely unacceptable. Moreover, for what? For a Tricolor? It is our flag, which we must honor and kiss, on which we must swear”. And then, adds Conte, “if your problem, dear majority parliamentarians, is the Tricolor and defending the unity of the country, then we will relaunch and take to the streets with the Tricolors: next Tuesday 18 June, in Rome, Piazza Santi Apostoli , we will meet with the other opposition forces to reiterate our no to differentiated autonomy, to the premiership; our no to this intimidating climate”. “We will raise the level of the battle, we need the push of all of you: come in large numbers, let’s show ourselves, let’s wave our Tricolore, say no to this climate and these attempts at cowardly aggression”, he concluded.
