Genoa Under 18, the dream is reality: the rossoblù are Italian champions

A masterpiece. It is easily definable in this wayaffirmation obtained by Genoa Under 18 against Roma at the “Del Conero” stadium in Ancona. The 2-0 gained in the championship final allows the young rossoblù to rejoice: Gennaro Ruotolo’s team, for the second time in its history, is Italian champion.

The coach had already achieved the feat in 2021. This year he granted himself an encore. After the crazy comeback in the semi-final against Inter this evening the Grifone appeared even more orderly and precise. The opening goal came right at the end of the first half with Venturino who, thanks to an excellent shot from distance, surprised the opposing goalkeeper by piercing him.

The Giallorossi’s attempts in the second half were to no avail: Consiglio lowered the shutters and, at 80′, Romano on penalty conquered by Grossi put the challenge on ice signing the double advantage of the rossoblù. Subsequently, the ball was in the hands of Genoa, a team that ended up with numerical superiority due to Litti’s expulsion.
