We reached by telephone Claudio Banchi, historic ex-president of the BBC Grosseto, European champion and now marketing manager of the new red and white association which aims to bring our city back to the highest levels of hit and run.
Good evening, Claudio. BBC Grosseto has a new sponsor, New Energy Gas e Luce. How did the sponsorship come about?
The sponsorship was born thanks to the interest of Alessandro Papini, former Arezzo baseball player and important figure in the New Energy organization chart. Thanks to him, the company managers understood the potential of our team and our movement to make themselves known in the area>>.
Guglielmo Manzo, owner of New Energy Gas and Luce, owns Arezzo football which he relaunched, bringing him back to the pros in two years and now has even more ambitious plans. Do you think that the Amaranth owner might also want to invest in the BBC Grosseto to make it grow?
This is the common goal. Three weeks ago the representatives of New Energy Gas and Light were our guests at Jannella and we agreed that from 2025 we will have to fight for the top, the only way to see the stands of our stadium as packed as they once were again>>.
Finally, a quick joke about the championship. What do you think of the BBC’s progress so far?
I consider it below the team’s expectations and technical possibilities. we are doing everything we can to put things right also because the championship formula allows us to cradle expectations despite the absolutely negative record at the moment. The important thing now is to reverse this trend by returning to victories>>.
