Tragedy in the night in viale 16 Aprile in Prato where a 49-year-old motorcyclist, Massimiliano Grillo, lost his life. The impact was too violent, the causes of which were investigated by the Police who in the meantime have reconstructed the dynamics of the accident.
What happened
According to the reconstruction of the police the man lost control of the motorcycle, crashing into a tree. It is 2.30 in the morning on Thursday 13 June 2024, when the alarm went off. The crash occurred at the roundabout on Via delle Pollative.
Thanks to the images of a video surveillance camera in the area, the police were able to reconstruct what happened exactly. The motorbike travels along the avenue at high speed and, without any hint of brakingproceeds straight at the roundabout, finishing its run against the tree in its centre. Grillo died practically instantly.
The rescue was useless
An ambulance from 118 intervened on the scene, but unfortunately every attempt to save the 49-year-old was in vain. The 49-year-old died immediately after the accident, despite him wearing a helmet. It will be placed on the body the autopsy. The absence of braking also makes one think of an illness while driving. Grillo was a bricklayer living in Galciana (Prato), father of two girls aged 17 and 20 and had lost his wife a couple of years ago due to illness.
