Child prostitution in Bari, 7 people in immediate trial

The investigating judge of Bari Giuseppe Ronzino has ordered the immediate trial of seven people accused of having induced, facilitated, exploited, managed and organized the prostitution of four underage girls, the offended parties in this proceeding. These are the four ‘Squad girls’ (as they called each other on social media) Marilena Lopez (35 years old), 21 year old Antonella Albanese, Federica Devito (25 years old), Elisabetta Manzari (24) and Nicola Basile (25 years old), Roberto Urbino (42) and Ruggiero Doronzo (29).

Along with them, three other people are under investigation for whom, however, immediate trial has not been ordered. They are the manager of the B&B in Bari Michele Annoscia (who would have known that prostitution took place in his establishment), the Lecce lawyer Stefano Chiriatti and Fabio Carlino, the latter alleged clients of the girls. The trial will open on October 3rd before the judges of the first criminal section in collegiate composition. Three (Lopez, Devito and Basile) are in prison, the other four are under house arrest. The investigations, coordinated by the prosecutor Matteo Soave and conducted by the Flying Squad, led to the execution of 10 precautionary measures on May 13th. The facts date back to the period between 2021 and 2022, when the girls were just 16 years old.
