Cycling in the Venice garden: from the rain to the emerald of the UNESCO Heritage

Reading time: 2 minutes

As a 90s advertisement said, “Two is better than one” so here’s the third and fourth day of the Press Tour “Cycling in the Venice Garden”. From the Roncade Castle passed to Cison di Valmarino, in full Heritage Hills UNESCO of Conegliano Valdobbiadene, precisely in Villa Marinelli.

A historical pearl amidst the shining greenery that spring gives to the vineyards, full of mysteries and decidedly intriguing and curious architecture. Unfortunately the weather was not our friend as unfortunately it was not with the entire province, making it rain violently and continuous throughout the day, thus making it impossible to implement the program and therefore turning to alternative historical and food and wine activities. Riccardo Trevisiour guide to Treviso Biketells the historical tasting in what is certified as the land of origin of the most prestigious type of prosecco in the world: the Cartize.

A 1km square “strip of vineyards” of pure natural gold which will then become the “King of Proseccos” once pressed and processed. Day four which begins with another grey sky but we know well that sometimes nature can be deceptive and fortunately we have not fallen into this deception. A spectacular sun accompanied us along the entire route along the hills made even more of a shining green thanks to the liters of water that fell, following tracks among the vineyards and touching some of the most famous climbs of the Marche such as the Combai and Guia. Then moving on to the direction Valdobbiadene for Santo Stefano, Saccol, Colbertaldo, Col San Martino and Cartizze again.

If I tell you now Osteria Senza oste? There is a local entrepreneur who wanted to make the cabin available to everyone (really everyone). Family in the hills above Valdobbiadene, where inside you will find a Prosecco DOCG dispenser and the most varied types of local cured meats, all freely available. Yes, free offer. Go there, have fun, admire the green hills but go there using your head and heart: here it’s all a question of respect.
The last stage sees us arrive at Windlass of the Croda which is located at Refront itthus returning towards Cison di Valmarino.

60 km with a difference in altitude of 1200 metresluckily spectacular weather and tomorrow this beautiful adventure within the Trevigiana brand ends at the foot of the Sanctuary of Possagno. So, are you falling in love?
