Turin: Marco Gay designated new president of the Industrial Union

AND’ Marco Gay the designated new president of the Industrial Union of Turin. The General Council in this afternoon’s session decided that the successor of Giorgio Marsiaj he will be the current executive president of Zest and Confindustria Piemonte. The vote took place on the basis of the indications that emerged from the report of the designation commission, composed of Gianfranco Carbonato, Dario Gallina And Licia Mattioli, wise men in charge of preliminary consultations as the last three past presidents of the Association. Today’s meeting represents the first step in the process of renewing the association’s top management, which will be followed by a further meeting of the General Council on June 25th, during which the president in charge will present his presidential team and put it to the vote. Subsequently, as per the Statute, it will then be up to the General Assembly meeting in private form on July 15th to elect Marco Gay as president of the Turin Industrial Union for the four-year period 2024-2028 and the vice-presidents.

While Giorgio Marsiaj at the end of his experience stated: “I conclude my mandate with the satisfaction of having served the city’s entrepreneurial system without reservations in one of the most delicate phases of the country’s recent economic history, which put the resilience of the our companies. Unione Industriali Torino has always been at their side and together we have crossed a treacherous ford. But we came out of it with determination, facing the challenges of the great global changes underway with the awareness of having what it takes to consolidate Turin’s role as a leading manufacturing and technological hub in Europe. I leave a solid, authoritative Turin Industrial Union that has grown in the number of members, thanks also to a first-rate structure, to which I express my gratitude for the precious work carried out alongside me. A modernized association both from an organizational point of view and for the services offered, close to contemporary issues and capable of representing a reference interlocutor for the institutions. All crowned by the achievement of the title of Capital of Business Culture 2024 which revived the pride of Turin’s entrepreneurship. It is now a pleasure to pass the baton to Marco Gay, an entrepreneur who is attentive and sensitive to the needs of the productive world as well as society, who will be able to give further impetus to the path started”, he concluded.
