Fiera Milano launches NetZero Milan, a new expo-summit dedicated to decarbonisation technologies: appointment from 14 to 16 May 2025

Fiera Milano officially presented NetZero Milan, the new expo-summit dedicated to the decarbonisation of the industrial sector, which will be held from 14 to 16 May 2025 at Allianz MiCo and which will offer the opportunity to bring together top managers, corporate decision makers and international stakeholders to discuss and promote innovative solutions for a zero-emission economy, including – obviously – hydrogen.

“NetZero Milan represents the first new event that confirms the positive start of the execution of Fiera Milano’s 2024-2027 strategic plan” declared Francesco Conci, CEO and General Manager of Fiera Milano. “Through this new appointment, we aim to support the industrial world and sectors that are particularly difficult to decarbonise, helping them to identify the strategies, tools and technologies that can allow them to tackle the decarbonisation path in the double horizon in the most efficient way strategic 2030 and 2050. Furthermore, the international context is giving a significant impetus to the process of change and the energy transition of companies and, most likely, in the coming years, it will become strategic for Italy and the whole of Europe to work to develop a leadership role in the sector of generation and distribution of alternative energy. Finally, thanks to the topics addressed by NetZero Milan, we want to reiterate how important sustainability integrated into business is for us. It is, in fact, at the center of Fiera Milano’s strategic vision and defining it in the company’s business model is a qualifying criterion, a competitive advantage on the international scene”.

As Fiera Milano recalled, Europe has initiated a profound structural change in its economic system with the aim of assuming technological leadership in the fight against climate change. This is a significant challenge on an economic level, which will mobilize over 4,500 billion euros of investments at community level to achieve the objectives of the ‘Fit 55’ package by 2030. For Italy this means a mobilization of resources of over 900 billion euro to 2030, as estimated in the PNIEC (National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan).

To support companies in this challenge, in particular those active in the most critical sectors (the so-called hard-to-abate), such as steel, cement, paper, NetZero Milan proposes itself as a transversal platform that will involve all technologies able to contribute to the goal of decarbonisation: from utility-scale and industrial solar to hydroelectric and wind, from batteries to green hydrogen, from emerging energy technologies to new fuels, up to solutions for the removal and compensation of CO2 emissions . It will also propose electrification, digitalisation and decarbonisation solutions designed for industries with the greatest environmental impact and will also address green policy and financing issues.

NetZero Milan, also through collaboration with recognized knowledge partners in the energy and industrial sector such as, for example, the ECCO think tank and the Roland Berger consultancy company, intends to contribute to increasing dialogue and discussion in relation to innovation issues. Sharing vision and knowledge will also be at the center of the preparatory events that will take place in the coming months and will offer a first networking opportunity in view of the May 2025 appointment.
