JESI – The Prevention Department of the Ast and the Senigallia Polstrada are carrying out investigations relating to the accident at work which occurred on Tuesday evening around 9.30 pm along the SS76 highway, at km 65+720 in the stretch included between the Monsano and Interporto exits, lane monti (towards Fabriano). The accident occurred within the construction site set up for the resurfacing of the road surface, where around ten workers were working at the time of the accident.
According to an initial reconstruction, still being examined by investigators, it seems that a machine – a cutter used to prepare the road surface before laying the asphalt – driven by a 48-year-old Italian worker resident in the Pesaro area, suddenly lost control and went first running over another vehicle stopped on the construction site and then a worker who was nearby. The man (a 50-year-old Italian resident in Sassoferrato) was accidentally hit by the machinery driven by his colleague, and was seriously injured. It was the driver of the vehicle who provided first aid and raised the alarm, drawing the attention of the team of workers who were on the road construction site. The 50-year-old, fortunately always remained conscious, was promptly helped by colleagues who immediately alerted 112. In addition to the 118 medical vehicle and an ambulance, Senigallia Polstrada agents and Ast technicians intervened on site. for verifying safety conditions on the construction site based on current regulations.
The worker, who was injured in the leg, was transported to the emergency room of the Torrette regional hospital under code red. Until late at night he underwent all the necessary health checks, which averted life-threatening conditions. Just as until late at night the Polstrada officers assisted the work of the AST technicians in collecting information for the technical report on the accident which will then be delivered to the judicial authority.
