Happy Birthday «Bubbles»! Carosello Records, Vasco Rossi’s historic label – these days fresh from triumph at San Siro (Milan), and soon with four sold out dates at the San Nicola stadium in Bari – celebrates the first 40 years of the best-selling album of the year at the time of its first publication, with the release of a special remastered edition, «BOLLICINE 40th RPLAY SPECIAL EDITION» (Carosello Records label/Universal Music distribution).
Not only that: from tomorrow, 14 June, the unreleased remix of the song «Bollicine» created by Vince Pastano – guitarist and producer of Vasco – together with Marc Urselli (soon busy in Taranto, Puglia, for the Medimex), also available in 45 rpm vinyl format in a limited edition.
«When I was asked to make a remix of Bollicine, I immediately exclaimed: «Beautiful!»; But then a thousand fears came over me – comments Vince Pastano – I thought about calling a collaborator who could help me obtain a different sound, albeit inherent to the original. My friend and colleague Marc Urselli came to mind, a sound engineer who has lived in New York for 25 years and has won various Grammy Awards, collaborating with names such as U2, Lou Reed and the Beach Boys. I didn’t want a remix as a producer and so we tried to do it as musicians: we found a good understanding and we even dared to insert some references to groups we’ve been listening to all our lives, in addition to a rather tribal initial part and the refined ending with the strings . Vasco really liked the result!
The song in this new and unreleased guise is present in the 2024 concert lineup.
