Brescia, 30 June 2024 – They will start in the night extraordinary maintenance work will take place between tomorrow and Tuesday of the railway infrastructure on the Brescia-Bornato routealong the Ferrovienord’s Brescia-Iseo-Edolo line, where in a few months the first ones will also pass through Italy for the first time hydrogen trains.
The operations will be carried out mainly at night so as not to interfere with normal railway circulation, but it is not excluded that they could continue during the day with the stop of the route and the use of replacement buses. “
These are works of renewal and rehabilitation of the railway infrastructure that involve the replacement of rails and sleepers, through the use of a renewal train – they say from the management company – which employs 60 people/night for a maximum production of 1 kilometer per night; the ballast will be changed, thanks to the use of the ballast rehabilitation machine, which employs 15 people/night and replaces up to 250 meters of ballast per shift. The construction site will start from the city of Brescia and will then continue along the line to the Bornato station. The work in conjunction with level crossings could also continue during the day, resulting in the suspension of the railway service, in addition to the temporary modification of local road traffic”.
The priority interventions on the Brescia-Bornato section will end in September, while the secondary activities and finishing will be carried out later. The intervention is financed by the Region with 17 million for the Brescia-Bornato section and 47 for the Artogne-Edolo, where the works will start at the end of September.
