On the day of anniversary of the death of Silvio Berlusconi the sports center has been renamedAC Monza: the “Luigi Berlusconi-Monzello Sports Center” officially becomes, starting from 12 June, “Silvio and Luigi Berlusconi Sports Center”. Leading the evening on the new name was the CEO and deputy vice-president of AC Monza Adriano Galliani who, in the company of the captain of AC Monza Matteo Pessina and the deputy mayor of the municipality of Monza, Egidio Longoni, unveiled the sign of the new sports center. Small red and white bags and a large delegation of fans also attended the ceremony.

A dynamic Adriano Galliani he immediately took the floor and thanked the president with an open heart Silvio Berlusconi: «We are one of the very few Serie A teams that have all sixteen teams from Under 8 to Under 20, i.e. Primavera 1: we owe all this to the President. So we thought it was right, that it was beautiful and that it was romantic to change the name of this center which until today was called “Centro Sportivo Luigi Berlusconi” who is the President’s father. From today, one year after the passing of our President and as a Monza fan since I was five years old, I can only thank the person who brought us to Serie A for the first time two years ago, who allows us to play in Serie A for the third year and who with his passion and investments has made Monzello, which six years ago was in disastrous conditions, a center of excellence for all Italian teams. For this reason the new name of the sports center will be “Silvio and Luigi Berlusconi” starting today. We are here with three people from Monza by birth. I am convinced that the sense of belonging matters a lot and it is nice that the deputy mayor of the municipality of Monza, the CEO of Monza and the captain of Monza, who was also born in Monza, are here.
