NEW EVENTS SCHEDULED IN TUSCANY AND EMILIA-ROMAGNA, WITH HISTORICAL MOTORCYCLES IN CHIANTI AND VAL D’ORCIA AND PRE-WAR CARS ON THE ROMAGNOLA RIVIERA

A new, exciting double of events will fly the flag of ASI Circuito Tricolore over the long weekend of 14, 15 and 16 June. The most evocative streets, villages and squares of Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna will host “Motociclettando” and “Autogirovagando” respectively.

The teamwork put in place by the Siena Club Auto Moto d’Epoca, the Club Moto d’Epoca Fiorentino and the Italian Indian Historical Registry inspired the participation of almost eighty historic motorbikes (about twenty rare and precious “centenaries”, such as the Rochet Tricycle dated 1900, the Brutus of 1902 or the Frera of 1904) who from Monteriggioni di Siena will undertake a ride in the splendid scenery offered by the Chianti, the Crete Senesi and the Val d’Orcia. First stop, Friday 14 June, in the city of the Palio with a visit to the Municipal Museum. The following day there are trips to Asciano, Trequanda, Pienza and Chianciano Terme, where at 6.30 pm, from Piazza Martiri Perugini, there will be a re-enactment of a historic competition that took place one hundred years ago. Finally, the program for Sunday 16 June includes the return to Siena with a stop in Bagno Vignoni and conclusion at the Contrada della Chiocciola Museum.

The 14th edition of “Autogirovagando” organized by the Collectors Historic Car Club of Cesena will be a real dive into the past with cars rigorously built before 1945. It starts from 1909 with the Buick Absent to move on to the “queens” of the 1920s such as the Fiat 501, the Lancia Lambda, the Ansaldo, then the sports cars and grand tourers of the 1930s with the Jaguar SS 100, the Delage D6-80 up to his majesty the Rolls-Royce 20/25 of 1933.

On Friday 14 June, at 11.00, we will depart from Cesenatico for the Saline di Cervia and for the subsequent visit to the Siropack company which will host a conference on sustainability, with particular focus on electrical technology and bio-fuels by the speakers from University of Bologna. The cultural activities will continue with a visit to the Maritime Museum. Saturday’s tour will touch San Carlo di Cesena, Sarsina (with a visit to the Archaeological Museum) and Villa Silvia di Lizzano; in the evening, from 9.30pm, there will be a car parade in Piazza Ciceruacchio, on the right of the canal port, with the crews in period clothing and an award ceremony for the best combinations.
