Announcement for the anti-violence center in Narni, according to the TAR the assignment must be redone

NARNI Barbara Corvi anti-violence centre, the Amelia Women’s Forum is back in the game. The Umbria Regional Administrative Court accepts the appeal presented against the municipality of Narni and the San Martino association. The publication of the results of the tender for the assignment of services which last January had assigned the management to the social enterprise San Martino put the Forum on a war footing. A result that was not shared and on which the Forum immediately asked for checks and insights, promising to fight. With a ruling dated 10 June 2024, the Umbrian court partially accepted the Forum’s arguments, establishing that a component of the score of the notice attributed by the commission to the Women’s Forum was incorrect. To resolve the error, the judges decided that the Amerina association was entitled to the same score assigned to the Terni association. In light of this decision, the Women’s Forum must now be admitted to the co-planning table that the municipality of Narni must establish by canceling the previous one. «As an association – they write from the Forum – we are very happy with the result achieved so far, for which we fought together with the Umbra Network for self-determination. These are not “just any” services, but they require specific skills, which know how to create in the relationship between women the possibility of designing paths to escape violence, respecting the self-determination of the women themselves, counteracting the patriarchal culture that such violence determines.” Among the most contested points in the outcome of the announcement was the lack of recognition of experience in the management of anti-violence centers and the prevailing mission of combating gender violence in the association statute. «We feel unfairly treated and evaluated – they said the day after the results – considering that the Amelia Women’s Forum has managed an anti-violence desk since 2012 with funds from the equal opportunities department; has in its corporate object, as an exclusive activity, the prevention and fight against gender violence and since 2018 it has managed the anti-violence center in social zone 11, with certificates of esteem and verifiable results”. To reiterate their position, last April 20th there was also a protest under the municipality of Narni, to reiterate the professionalism gained by feminist and secular associations in the management of these services.
