PESARO – It was the day of celebration. The day to say thank you to the many who allowed Andrea Biancani and Matteo Ricci to get where they have arrived. “I have already notified Matteo – jokes the new mayor, from the stage in Piazzale della Libertà – to free me of his office”. «The merit – Ricci recalls – led him to win in the first round with over 60%». Greeted by an ovation before taking the floor. «I’m thinking about the team – Biancani begins – I really hope to define everything in the shortest possible time, precisely in these days because then we’ll start. It is our duty given the numbers and the heat received. In fact, if you ever see me changed along the way, let me know. Once the council is made, I will begin to carry out what I promised. I will look at the requests that came from all the neighborhoods during the election campaign, and I will give answers to the citizens and to those who spoke to me about their fragilities and their needs. Then, the dialogue with the social sector, associations and businesses, also at the top of the list are the real and most urgent needs. In these two months of election campaign, I have met and gotten to know many who were not born in Pesaro but have known it for work or holiday reasons and have chosen to stay there and perhaps start a family. A sign that our city is doing well, even with many things to complete and improve. Our adversaries, on the other hand, despite themselves, talked about a city that doesn’t exist.

I will certainly represent the Marche, because we must save this region from the provincialism into which the Acquaroli council has thrown it, but I will also represent the other four regions that have given me so much in this climb to the European Championships.”
