Agrigento, two arrests for 79 kilos of hashish

The Guardia di Finanza, after having learned targeted investigative information, followed from the Sacchitello service area, in the Enna area, two cars moving constantly one after the other, an Audi and a Peugeot, and then, on the 640 , blocked them in Agrigento, in San Leone, in the Maddalusa district. On board the Audi there were two Frenchmen from Marseille, a 51-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman. A Moroccan driving the Peugeot fled on foot. In the Audi, 79 kilos of hashish divided into blocks of one kilo each were found and seized, with a market value of approximately 200,000 euros. The Court of Agrigento, as proposed by the Prosecutor’s Office, validated the arrest in prison. Only the African’s documents were found on the Peugeot. When the financiers found the drugs, the 51-year-old Frenchman threw his cell phone into the river in the area. And then he explained about the woman with him: “It has nothing to do with it. She is my friend. We were just supposed to spend a holiday in Agrigento. Even the Moroccan, he is a friend, and has nothing to do with it.” The arrested are assisted by the lawyer Gianfranco Pilato.
