REGGIO EMILIA – A judge and a child joined hands. Thus the incipit of the famous Nomadi song comes to mind, thinking of the latest novel by the Sicilian writer and teacher Dario Levantino. The title is “The judge and the child” and retraces the events of Paolo Borsellino and little Giuseppe Di Matteo, killed by the mafia at just fifteen years old.

On Thursday 13 June at 6pm the author will present it in the city, at the Catomes Tôt Social Center, at 6pm. This is the event that kicks off TEDxAdventure, a series of three meetings of Courageous Readings that anticipates the new edition of TEDxReggioEmilia .

The other Courageous Readings are scheduled for Thursday 12 September with Sara Manfredi, art director and independent curator among the founders of CHEAP, the public art project that intervenes on the urban landscape of Bologna with poster and paste-up installations; and Tuesday 24 September with Ilaria Gaspari, philosopher and author as well as writing teacher and collaborator of various newspapers.

A series of inspiring and stimulating meetings to explore together the various nuances of courage, from the heroic acts of a few to the daily efforts of many. Protagonists on stage are the stories of many people, extraordinary in their “normality”, who had the strength to leave their comfort zone and take a position, challenging fear and accepting the risks inherent in carrying forward a specific thought, a clear idea, a precise vision of the world. In a word, women and men who have chosen to be free.
