LMonday 17 June the Diocese of Imola will give thelast farewell to Monsignor Antonio Renzi, Don Tonino as he was called by everyone, in the church of San Giacomo Maggiore del Carmine in Imola. A will expressed by the priest himself, born in Imola on 19 September 1930, ordained on 28 June 1955 and returned to the House of the Father on Tuesday 11 June at the age of 93. The funeral will be celebrated at 9 am, then we will proceed to the Piratello cemetery.
In the days preceding the funeral, his parishioners from Belricetto will also have the opportunity to greet the historic parish priest of the Lugo area. Don Tonino had in fact arrived in Belricetto in 1959 first as spiritual bursar of the parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and then as parish priest until 2015, when he became parish priest emeritus. Don Tonino Renzi’s body will come displayed on Saturday and Sunday in the parish church of Belricetti and on Saturday at 8 pm a holy mass will be celebrated in his memory.
