Terni: “Marketing to raise awareness of the regenerated suburbs”

The press conference on the marketing implementation actions included in the Suburbs Plan took place this morning in the video conference room of the BCT in Terni. The Councilor for Territorial Planning was present Marco Iafather, the Councilor for Commerce Stefania Renzi, the councilor for economic development Sergio Cardinali and the economic operator Iscom Group, owner of intervention 6c)“Territorial marketing: project start-up support.

The marketing activities involve the involvement of economic operators in a reflection on the effects and repercussions of the interventions of the Suburbs Plan in relation to three of the interested areas characterized by a high commercial intensity and on which physical interventions with greater impact insist, through cycles of meetings and co-design by areas, technical design workshops.

The activity, which will take place through inspections, moments of discussion and co-planning, will also have the outcome of promoting innovative forms of protagonism and collaboration with the Administration with respect to urban policies, potentially also affecting the other areas of the Plan suburbs. The inspections will be held on 18, 19 and 20 June, while i workshops on 2, 3 and 4 July.

This activity will also be subject to “modelling” in order to adopt this tool in support of the strategic framework for the development of the center – QSV – starting from the rules for identifying the reference contexts and for the involvement of the urban community, also by virtue of the value of the “urban regeneration laboratory” of the Suburbs Plan, which directly connects the interventions and related actions to the process of definition, drafting and management of the same programming tool for the valorization of the historic centre.

“I thank my colleagues – declares the councilor for Territorial Planning Marco Iafather – the councilor for Economic Development Sergio Cardinali and the councilor for commerce Stefania Renzi for the synergy and shared work on the interventions of the Suburban Plan and on the Qsv which represent powerful transversal and multidisciplinary tools that require the contribution of different departments and management of the organisation. We immediately recognized the great potential of these tools closely linked to the regeneration of the urban fabric and their relevance to our strategic lines set out in directions and objectives in the single programming document. I want to underline the importance of a participatory approach based on collaboration in which the projects are not imposed from above but are the result of a planning that also moves from the bottom. The Qsv has already come to life with the first working round, a phase of discussion which led to a joint meeting which gave rise to a vision of the center summarized in the slogan at the center of valorisation together as protagonists, to underline the repositioning of the city at the center and the value of the co-design approach”
“I know the project, the picture is clear to me, says the Commerce councilor Stefania Renzi. I struggle daily with the problem of reconciling liveability with the vitality of the city centre, which is why I believe that the project should be carried out in synergy, seeking a balance between all the different issues”.
“I believe that the projects should be placed within the fabric of the city – declares the councilor for Economic Development Sergio Cardinali – we must imagine the center as the pulsating brain of the city, for commerce and services. The element of participation is fundamental and is essentially divided into two areas. We must think that right at the center there are new intelligences, young people who need to be involved. Together with the University Councilor Viviana Altamura we are working to reposition the university in the center also to encourage the participation of young people. I also believe that the entire innovative scope of these tools must also be combined and supported with the economic resources of the system that in the past led to the difficult situation we are in today, using the multinationals still present who must review their role in a sustainable way” .
